A DISTINCT PLACE FOR NATION-BY-NATION IDEAS
Value connected to people and place.
Alaska Native and traditional communities have distinct social, cultural, and economic ways of life within Alaska’s wider society. Alaska Smart explores voluntary tools that respect those differences and each person’s choices.

THE STARTING POINT
Community authority.
Individual choice.
Alaska is home to many distinct Tribal nations and Alaska Native communities. Each nation determines its own citizenship, government, laws, priorities, and cultural protocols. A person can be a citizen of a Tribal nation and a citizen of the United States; those are distinct forms of citizenship. Alaska Native corporation shareholder status is a separate relationship. The platform never assumes every Alaska Native person has the same citizenship or organization relationship.
ONE UMBRELLA · DISTINCT STORIES
One shared doorway.
Each nation tells its own story.
Alaska Native Smart is one shared umbrella and doorway. It can offer a consistent way to enter, find the right named story space, and understand shared protections. The umbrella does not combine identities or create one collective voice. Each nation and community controls its own distinct story.
Structural example only. No actual nation, community, story, or authority is represented.
Shared sky motto
SHARED SKY · DISTINCT HORIZONS
We might all have a different horizon, but we are all living under the same sky.

THREE PRIMARY PATHS
Choose a path.
Each path is a separate area for discussion. Any real program would be shaped and approved by the organization with authority over it.

KNOWLEDGE, PLACE & CONTINUITY
Designed for careful conversation.
The concept recognizes that knowledge, culture, livelihoods, land, and water are connected, while each nation and community remains distinct. Digital tools should support self-description, use the correct entity type, honor local authority, and never carry one nation’s assumptions into another.
CLEAR BOUNDARIES
A concept, with no assumptions.
This website does not create a universal Native profile or classify visitors by race, tribe, clan, ethnicity, or ancestry. It does not determine Tribal citizenship or membership, corporation shareholder status, descendant status, residency, eligibility, ownership, or participation.
Tribal nations, Alaska Native corporations, communities, and other Native organizations are distinct entity types with different authorities and relationships. Each retains authority over its own rules, records, decisions, and communications. There are no platform-wide eligibility rules.
Concept disclosure: Alaska Native Smart is not affiliated with any Alaska Native corporation, Tribal nation, community, or other Native organization. It is not a financial service and does not create or promise any entitlement, dividend, distribution, investment, return, profit, or payment.
